Art and Cooking Classes in Provence
Since 1995 Philippe Gion welcomes food lovers, novice and seasoned cook alike, in his school of cuisine in Saint Remy-de- Provence, a famous village with vineyards, old stones, roman tiles, olive trees, tall plane trees shadowing the village place. This school comes from his love of entertaining and a passion for cooking.
More than just recipes and techniques, this adventure brings you to the best of Provencal way of life - a life based around friends, the kitchen, wonderful food prepared from the freshest local ingredients, famous wines, liquors, warm nights and fun.
You will learn the secrets of the Mediterranean-Cretan diet, create a fragrant aioli, that incomparable golden pomade or make a real bouillabaisse or even a paella! You will taste the freshest fish from the Mediterranean sea, broiled or poached in white wine. You will cook the fabulous “Chicken with forty garlic cloves” served with an amazing local “Tian rouge” (Red gratin without cheese, cream or potatoes!) and lot more…
By the end of the week you will have learned a whole new way of living and eating. You will go home with your own personalized cookbook, but best of all, you will keep wonderful memories of a great time in the warm sun of Provence.
This four-day three-night English language program* includes lodging in a beautiful Provencal mansion and hands-on cooking classes led by Philippe. The cost is 1490 Euros (double occupancy). Each day’s program offers something different: three 4-courses menus covering about 20 recipes prepared together and shared around the home table, cheese and wines tasting from a selection of prestigious French wines. Participants are supplied with apron, chef hat and a booklet of Philippe' detailed recipes to take back home with them.
